Cookie Policy
Last updated: 29 August 2026
This policy explains how skinhobbies.co.uk uses cookies and similar browser storage. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and browser storage?
Cookies are small text files a website can store on your device. “Local storage” is a similar technology that lets a site remember information in your own browser. Both are used to make sites work and remember your preferences.
2. What we use
We keep this to a minimum. We currently use only:
Strictly necessary — the site cannot work without these
-
Your session (
sessionid) — remembers your basket and keeps you signed in as you move between pages. -
Security token (
csrftoken) — protects forms from being submitted by another website on your behalf. -
Cloudflare — sets cookies such as
__cf_bmandcf_clearanceto protect the site from malicious traffic and keep it running quickly. These are essential and do not track you for advertising.
Functional — your preferences
- Saved items — your saved products are stored against your account rather than in your browser, so they follow you between devices when you sign in.
- Website assistant — a short-lived reference so the assistant can follow the thread of your conversation. It is discarded when you leave.
Security — third party
- Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms from automated spam. Google sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and basic browser information when a protected page loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Stripe — if you go through checkout, Stripe sets cookies on its own payment pages for fraud prevention.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
3. Managing cookies and storage
You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Please note that blocking strictly necessary items may stop parts of the site working — you may not be able to sign in or complete an order. Guidance for common browsers can be found in their help pages, or at aboutcookies.org.
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site evolves. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
